This Week at the Reel Deal

Column By JIM O’DONNELL
Reel Deal Theater

This week we are opening The Giver.  Into the Storm, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Guardians of the Galaxy (great film!) will hold for another week. Lucy will end Thursday.

I did see Into the Storm and despite poor review, I enjoyed the film. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Next week on Aug. 22, we are confirmed to open The Hundred Foot Journey and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. That leaves two remaining screens. If Guardians is still doing well, we will have to hold it another week and choose between When the Game Stands Read More

Review by KELLY DOLEJSI

Immediately upon birth, most of us inherit a culture, race, religion and economic status. We go home to a large house in a modern city or a shack in an occupied territory. In other words, who we are depends on who we are born as. So what happens if we are switched at birth? Who are we then? “The Other Son” (2013, rated PG-13, French), screening at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at Mesa Public Library, Read More
